What does Duty Free mean?

No tax. No GST. No PST. No HST. No Duty.

Who can shop at Aldergrove Duty Free Shop?

Everyone that is leaving Canada!  For Canadian shoppers, your personal exemption applies when/if you bring it back.

Can I Shop Duty Free and stay in Canada?

No. All goods sold at Aldergrove Duty Free are for export into the US. That is why no taxes are applied.

Can I purchase an extra bottle of liquor going into the USA?

Yes. You can purchase more than your personal exemption, but you could be charged duties & taxes by US Customs. Duty is approx. $2–$3 US per bottle of liquor and $2 US per case of beer.

What age must I be to purchase alcohol at Aldergrove Duty Free?

21 years of age or older, based on Washington State Law.

What age must I be to purchase tobacco products at Aldergrove Duty Free?

19 years of age or older.

What is the return policy at Aldergrove Duty Free Shop?

Requests for refunds must be made within 45 days of purchase upon presentation of receipt and article. Due to the personal nature of earrings, cosmetics, and fragrance, returns are done for manufacturer defects only.

Are you open all year round?

Yes we are open seven days per week. The only day we are closed is Christmas Day.

Is the Aldergrove/Lynden border crossing a 24-hour port?

No, the border opens at 8:00 am and closes at midnight.
